Albany Ford dealer, Johnson Ford, is pleased to announce that both the 2010 Ford Flex and 2010 Ford Fusion have earned Top Safety Pick recognition from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

Ford has 11 IIHS Top Safety Pick ratings for 2010 model vehicles – the most of any automaker – as well as the leading number of five-star safety ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The Flex and Fusion previously earned top possible scores for occupant protection in IIHS’s front, side and rear tests, but had to pass IIHS’s new roof strength test to maintain the rating. Both vehicles also must offer electronic stability control to be eligible for a Top Safety Pick.

With automotive safety a key feature for all consumers, Johson Ford is thrilled to remind consumers of Ford’s commitment to continuous improvement on the safety front.  The latest findings of the IIHS compliment a first-quarter study conducted for Ford by RDA Group of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., which revealed that eighty-four percent of customers who purchased a 2010 Ford, Lincoln and Mercury car or truck are satisfied with the vehicle’s quality and Ford has the fewest number of vehicle defects among all full-line manufacturers in the first three months of ownership.
