Albany Ford Dealer, Johnson Ford, is pleased to announce that the results are in and Ford has taken top honors among non-luxury brands in the J.D. Power and Associates’ 2010 Initial Quality Survey.

The J.D. Power and Associates Initial Quality Study^TM (IQS) is widely considered the industry benchmark for new-vehicle quality measured at 90 days of ownership.

For consumers, initial quality is an important consideration during the new-vehicle shopping and buying process. Initial quality has been shown over the years to be an excellent predictor of long-term durability, which can significantly impact consumer purchase decisions—not to mention out-of-pocket repair expenses down the road.

Topping the list in the Compact Car category is the 2010 Ford Focus. Offered in coupe and sedan body styles, and with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, the Ford Focus received a “facelift” inside and out in 2008. Stability control and ABS are now standard, along with numerous other features. Also, Sync has been upgraded for 2010.

The 2010 Ford Mustang, winner in the category of Midsize Sporty, is offered in coupe and convertible body styles, the former with an optional fixed glass roof. It features 2+2 seating with a small back seat and V-6 or V-8 power. For 2010, the Mustang has received a host of upgrades.

Completely redesigned for 2010, the Ford Taurus took the top honors in the Large Car category. The Ford Taurus is a full-size family sedan with a large trunk and an extensive options list. Features include MyKey, blind-spot information system, adaptive cruise control and an audio system with a 10-gigabyte hard drive

These honors are particularly significant for Ford, which scored highest in the category of non-luxury brands.

According to J.D. Power, Ford Motor Co. showed some of the biggest gains in quality among individual brands, moving into the fifth spot in the nation.
